Hello, we’re David and Emma. We’re both 23 and from Scotland.

During 2009 we came up with an idea of staying in Canada for a year. We both liked the idea of trying life in a different country, and Canada took our fancy. While dreaming up our plans for Canada, we thought “while we’re at it, lets stop off at America on the way”, and there and then, our North American Adventure was born.

This blog is serving two purposes.

First of all as a means for us to document our trip, store photographs and memories without the need of carting diaries around with us. Giving the number of places we’ll be visiting in our first month, and the miles we’ll be covering, it made sense to do it all electronically as we would undoubtedly lose a physical diary.

Secondly, it’s an effective means to update people on how we’re getting on. A lot of friends and family were interested in our trip, and it made sense to have a proper blog dedicated to the trip rather than informing people to look us up on Facebook (something not everyone uses).
